Kid Quotes....Uh, I mean Nathanisms

My sister Monica* has these "Kid Quotes" on her sidebar where she keeps track of all the hilarious things her children say.

Now, because Deacon can only say three words, there's not much to document (but thank you for asking---his words are "uh-oh," "ball," and "dada").

However, his father says the darnedest things. So I think I'll start keeping track of "Husband Quotes" on the side bar right over here

<------------------------------
(It's under our family picture).

I shall call these profound thoughts "Nathanisms." Ü

*P.S. I don't have a crush on Monica or anything, but I do mention her a lot because she is so bloggerific. So if you don't already have access to her blog, you should tell me. If not for the kid quotes, then do it for cute pictures of her "numerous" sets of twins.

'Da Jazz

Not a big NBA fan. I didn't even know that the season was still going, I thought it ended during March. Isn't that what March Madness is anyway?!? Huh?

Anyway, I got a memo at work stating the Jazz are in the playoffs and that we could wear jeans and our Jazz Jersey's to work on game days. Well I don't own any jerseys, but I love a good dress-down day, so I borrowed a jersey from Deacon and safety-pinned it to the front of my shirt.

Even though she lives in Tucson, my awesome sister Paige tracked down a Utah Jazz jersey for Deacon before he was even born! Naturally, he looks a lot better in it than I do (gotta love his wiry little arms), so I'll have to post a picture of him in it.

April Abridgment

April is the month, that my boys came down from Heaven.
Baby Deacon has turned one, and Nate turned twenty-seven.

A student at the hospital, bought Ben Folds tickets for a date,
But he had to go with Nathan, 'cause he asked his girl too late.
So Nathan sprang for dinner and they shared an ice cream sundae.
It crossed his mind much later, that last part seemed quite gay.

He went on a four-man fishing trip, and a lesson they did learn:
With no women to pack sunscreen, they all received a burn.

He also had exciting news, several letters from Weber State.
Acceptance to four new programs--so now what is our fate?
He's leaning towards Nuke Med, and another year I'll pine.
But the end is getting closer---Arizona in Two-Thousand Nine!

Deacon has a new craving, eating raw potatoes!
But him sneaking in the pantry is the last of all my woes---
I found him splashing in the toilet (I didn't shut the bathroom door).
Nate sought to reassure, saying, "Don't worry, it's happened before."
Those are not the 'comforting' words, a mother wants to hear.
Multiple forays in the toilet...but he barely turned one year!?!?

Found It!

Dear Jana,
Ha, Ha. I Found your Happy Note (the yellow one) and some others with George condolences. They were tucked into his funeral program Ü. Is it weird that I still have random stuff from H.S.? Now Nathan knows the secrets contained in my Tupperware Hope Chest in the garage.

A Little Nathan Humor.....

Nathan likes to read this online forum for VFR owners (that's his motorcycle), and I often ask him what the heck everyone talks about.

He said there really isn't much "talking", per se, it's more like people posting home video of their bike, showing how loud their pipes are. He said they like to post a lot of pictures too.

One VFR enthusiast started a thread asking people to upload "De-Motivational Poster" that apply to motorcycles. I was surprised at how many there were.

Most of them made fun of Harley riders:

There were some funny ones about sport bikes:

But it quickly turned into posting ANY De-Motivational Picture. These were some funny ones I'd never seen:

Took me a minute to 'get' this one:

Why yes. I did save the best for last:

I discovered a link for a website where you can make your own De-Motivational Poster! I finally had a use for this picture I got in an email called "Where your Goodwill donations really go." The website let me turn this:

Into this!

Ha, Ha. I had too many lines to go with this picture! The website is bighugelabs.com and I'd love to see what anyone else comes up with!
