Deacon gets his very first package in the mail.....thanks Grandma Jo for the new PJs!

After changing into his jammies, he couldn't wait to crawl up the stairs and get in bed Ü

My Boys

Nathan tried to sneak Deacon to school.

This boy loves to laugh.

The 'Post' of Christmas Past

CHRISTMAS 2002: We were newly engaged this month....Nathan really isn't as possessive as that picture makes him look....

We were the only ones dancing at my work party (everyone else was at the open bar).

Christmas 2003

Christmas In Paris!
Okay, okay, it was actually in Las Vegas on our way home for Christmas.

Our neighbor took this pic of our backyard. She wanted us to see all the "great" snow we missed while in Sunny Arizona for Christmas. Later this same day she called us to say our awning had collapsed from the weight of the snow.

Christmas 2004

I like it when we go to Arizona for the holidays, because we get to open our gifts from each other early and 'pretend' it's Christmas morning---then it's like having TWO Christmases (but without the divorced parents).

Christmas lights at Temple Square.

Christmas 2005

Our first (and last) Christmas alone in Utah.
Apparently we weren't the only ones who were depressed and decided to eat at McDonald's on Christmas Eve....it was sooooo busy. We decided to "class it up" a little by bringing our meal home and drinking some Martinelli's Ü

Since we were staying in Utah for Christmas, we actually put a tree up this year; and decorated it 'Weber State Style' with purple and white lights, balls, garland, and footballs.

Christmas 2006

We usually go to AZ for Christmas and don't bother putting up a tree. This year we hung a wooden tree on the lamp and put presents underneath it. The light bulb almost looks like a shining star on top of the tree......

One last Christmas with just the two of us....or is it the two-and-a-half of us?

'Then' and 'Now'

That was then....

This is now...

Deacon used to dwarf his twin cousins, Taylor and Kennedy, who were born two days after him. Nevermind that the twins were born 2 months early, or that Deacon is the son of a football player and was carried to full term. But that was all 'then' and here we are 'now'---Taylor and Kennedy are weighing more than he does.

More Girl Cousins!

Deacon has FOUR girl cousins that were born within 60 days of him. Two on the Hunt side and two on the Gavin side. His nearest boy cousin is 1.5 years older (or maybe 17 months younger...if Brenna and Cody will get their act together...wink, wink). Charlie is two weeks older, Taylor & Kennedy are two days younger, and Boston is two months younger. Here are some photos from his shoot with Charlie & Boston, his cousins on the Hunt side. Thanks to Aunt Carrie, The Awesome Photographer!

November Narration

Deacon 'helping' me pack for AZ

I thought November had just begun,
And now I see the month is done.
Time for an update, from the Hunt House;
Sit back & read---don't touch that mouse :)

Two nights a week, hubby works a grave.
Alone at the hospital, he better behave.
He's done with his classes until '08,
That sums up the month for Nate.

Aubrey flew to AZ for over a week,
To see Elder Gavin return home & speak.
His airplane came in, close to midnight,
We all surprised him at the end of his flight.

Deacon also flew (for the very first time),
He was so good, he gets his own rhyme.
He had some teeth finally poke through,
The bottom front, not one—but two!

Nate couldn't fly home, what bad luck.
For his Thanksgiving meal, he ate a duck!
November is over, and December is here,
Another poem waits at the end of this year.

Time for a walk (hint, hint)

When he starts trying to climb into the stroller...

I think it's time to go for a walk!

So we bundle him up warm, and we're off!

Deacon's Domain

So, I was thinking we should change our blog address from HuntHouse to DeaconsDomain....since it's all his pictures anyway :)
Here he is trying to crawl with his new Sunday shoes.

A different day, a different upside-down pose

Reading his Halloween card from Grandma & Grandpa Hunt
(that 'blue thing' underneath his chin is actually his right foot!)

Lobster Collage

There were just too many fun lobster pictures,
so I created a collage with a few of them. Click to englarge.

Happy Halloween!

Lobster Boy!
At least he isn't eating candy!
Daddy and Deacon at the hospital party
Everyone in the Radiology Department dressed up to match the Shrek theme (Click on photo to enlarge). Nathan was Shrek. Even without the mask (the person who was supposed to bring it didn't show up), we thought his outfit was ingenious---especially the sequined women's vest turned inside out and laced up the front with a shoelace from his old work boots!

October Pics

We haven't figured out why, but Deacon *loves* looking at people upside down. In this picture, Nathan was holding him normal. When he heard my voice, instead of turning his head to the left or right to see me, he arches his back until he almost flips out of Nate's arms so he can look at me upside down!
He crawled out of his pants (background) and kept right on going. Now that I think about, he was heading towards the bathroom.....maybe he is a genius and can't wait to start potty-training :)

A Beauti'fall' Day!

I honestly did not stage these pictures----he is just that cute!

I was working outside and letting Deacon play in the grass. I watched him observe each leaf, inspecting it for edibility, and I just knew I had to run for the camera!

The weather is one thing I truly love about Utah. I had heard of these so called "Four Seasons" but I had always thought it was just a hotel chain....
