17 Weeks!

Just Because...

Nathan made a really special dinner for me....just because!

A Bun In The Oven

This was my homemade costume I wore to work (nice knobs, I know). I took the knobs off my stove and attached them to my shirt. Then I made a clock that said 4:13. I drew a light bulb and sewed a bagel to my shirt. I was, "A Bun In The Oven."

I didn't have a bun, I could only find a bagel.
The "clock" said 4:13 because that was the due date I calculated for the baby.

I work with all boys, so nobody else dressed up :)

The Heber Creeper!

Yay! For my birthday, Nathan surprised me with tickets to the Heber Creeper! It is a 3 hour train ride that starts in Heber, leisurely rolls down Provo Canyon and then back to Heber. During the Fall, it is beautiful! There are a couple open air train cars, or you can sit in a regular passenger car. It is pulled by an old-fashion steam engine. Did I mention the countryside is BEAUTIFUL in October? This is the same train they use for the 'Polar Express' and they also do a similar train ride to during the winter when you can see snow and wildlife.

The only downside was my pregnancy. I was so nauseated that every creak and jerk of the train I thought I was going to throw up. It didn't help when a 3 hour train ride turned into 4.5 hours. On the way back, our train wheels kept sparking fires along the way. So we'd have to stop, the crew would put it out and we'd continue. Soon we had to stop permanently and wait for the fire department. I also had to go to the bathroom really bad (I was pregnant!) and didn't want to use the bathroom on the train.

When we arrived at the Provo park it was beautiful. We stretched out on the grass. There was a pastoral stream with people fishing. It was great.

The Aquarium

I won some tickets to the local Aquarium on the radio. Actually, I didn't even really win, but they gave me the tickets anyway. They played some song by Seal, I guessed the wrong one.
So (off air) the DJ told me the correct song to say. I repeated it, and that's the answer they played on air. So it sounded like I won.

The real aquarium is still being built, so the one we saw was a makeshift aquarium in a converted store in a strip mall. It was actually pretty impressive for the venue. This is the only picture we took, and my eyes were closed :(
My favorite part was petting the stingrays. They were so soft and silky. I actually liked the gift shop too, but I didn't buy anything. I was tempted by the lobster paraphernalia though.

Candygram

Nathan is heading back to school this month. He is starting his new Rad Tech program at Weber. It's two years long and I wanted him to have a fun start. So I made him a candy letter/poster. I've been keeping this poster board for several months (and through a move) to do this. Nathan kept trying to throw it away, but now he's glad he didn't!

I know you 'snickered' at me for keeping this poster paper, but I was planning something 'extra' special for it Ü Well, school is just around the corner, time to 'crunch' for tests & quizzes. Don't become a 'nerd' though or else you'll end up a 'butterfinger' in bed and we'll miss our 'baby'(ruth) makin' deadline. Love, Aubs
