Nathan Humor, Part II

I'll be at Girl's Camp all week and the house is turning into a Man Pad for Nathan and Deacon to party while I'm gone. In that spirit, I thought I'd make this a Bachelor Blog for a few days. Remember the de-motivational posters from Nathan's motorcycle chat room? {Ha, I still go back to that post when I need a good laugh}. Anyway, in a new thread, his fellow VFR enthusiasts were posting pictures of squids---->riders who don't wear helmets and/or full body riding gear.

It started with some grainy cell phone pictures:

Speaking of cell phones....this guy is talking on one while riding! Good thing the back of his bike is protected by his helmet.

Road rash will remove all that loose hanging skin:

Has anyone seen this movie starring Vanilla Ice?

Who says you can't bring groceries home on a motorcycle?

Squid on a bike.....get it? Ü

The cutest squid you'll ever see:

At least she's wearing a helmet. Kinda....

This is what a real man wears (plus helmet/gloves):

Rodizio with the Hardings

When Miken and Phil were up visiting in July, we went to Rodizio with them (and a bunch of other people I didn't know, but that she and Nathan did).

Here's Deacon starting his lunch:

Here he is stuffing himself:

And here he finished it off:
(actually, he didn't eat any meat---just cheese Ü).

So there was a humorous story that happened at Rodizios and I wanted to write it down....but I forgot! Probably because I am writing this in Sept

To Snoop, Or Not To Snoop? (that is the question)

Not this Snoop
I'm talking about this kind of snoop
We had a babysitter watch Deacon on Friday night. Nathan thinks I am weird because I set little "traps" around the house to see if she would go snooping. Mostly I was just curious if she would poke around while we were gone. One time I was babysitting and returned a family's photo album to the entertainment center and came face to face with the blinking light of a video camera! I freaked out but pretended not to notice. I then spent the rest of the evening racking my brain to remember if I had picked my nose or scratched my bum in front of it earlier.....

Anyway, I read all the Nancy Drew's when I was younger; so I was familiar with the old "piece of tape over the drawer" trick to see if it had been opened.

Personally, I prefer the "shoe in front of the closet door trick":
Well, in case you're wondering:

She snooped!

Apparently she was really interested in all of our closets, but she didn't touch the laundry room. Imagine that? I guess Nathan's skid marks remain a secret. Ooops! I guess not! Ha,ha. We manage the house that she lives in, so we have a master key. I told Nathan maybe I'll go snoop in her room sometime.....kidding!!!

So I'm wondering if anyone else spies on the sitter or they have ever peeked around someone's house? If you were a recent visitor to my house and poked around, then you can just leave an anonymous comment Ü ha,ha. I can't be the only one.........right?

July Updates

Last Thursday, we went back to Washington Terrace (where we used to live). Casey, our former neighbor, is very handy and he helped Nathan replace the starter in my car. While the boys were working, his wife invited me to Enrichment Night at the church. It was Deacon's first time in Nursery and he really liked it. He liked it even more when everything was done and they let all the kids out to play on the stage. He was running around, trying to keep up with kids twice his age. He almost fell off the front of the stage (twice), was pulling on the curtains, and carrying around someone else's tissue? I couldn't get him to sit still for one picture!

Back at the Smith's he had fun on their scooter and playing with their dog.

At Enrichment, I visited with lots of ladies I knew when we lived there. Afterwards, I went to see three of my (former) Young Women. It was so weird to them older. For some reason I expected everyone to stay the same, while we grew up. One of them asked if Deacon was my nephew Ü. On our way out of town, we drove past our old house. Wow. The yard is so overgrown (much how it was while we lived there). We were glad to be rid of that landscaping, and glad we didn't have to do fall clean up this year and all the trimming and raking that entails. Ü

On a completely different note, Nathan bought this helmet last week on Ebay. I think it is horrendous and totally looks dark and satanic. Nathan disagreed because it had some bible verse about on it....yeah, a bible verse about the end of the world! Fortunately (for me) it didn't fit him right so he relisted it and sold it for what he paid.

It worked out for the best because the next day this helmet was listed on KSL

It's a $700 helmet, but the guy selling it got it for free (sponsorship, it wasn't "hot"Ü), so he sold it for less than half of that. Nathan likes it a lot....and so do I!
