We almost didn't make it out for our anniversary date. Our babysitter, Wyatt, brought Guitar Hero with him and I think Nate wanted to change our plans. Eventually, we made it out of the house. We went to Matilda's Fair Dinkum, an Australian themed restaurant, and then.....dat duh duh da (drumroll): we went to a movie theater and saw a recently released film!!! This might not seem like a big deal but we are Red Box junkies & haven't been to a movie in over a year, and that was a dollar movie. So, I don't know if National Treasure 2 is really that exciting, or if it was the thrill of being back in a movie theater, or just the smell of buttered popcorn...but we really liked the movie.

We haven't had a poll in awhile---thanks to those that took the poll to help us choose Deacon's Halloween costume. We've added a new poll to the right and are wondering: what is the going rate for a babysitter? Wyatt is only our third babysitter, the first two charged us $5 per child, per hour. Wyatt on the other hand said he'd do it for free (we paid him Ü). Take the anonymous poll & vote (per child/per hour).

I usually pay $6 dollars an hour but I have two kids. Can't wait for you to come in a couple of weeks.
haha--that is sooo funny! Nate looks like he's REALLY into it! Our anniversary was uneventful by most standards as well-but it was a BIG deal just to get out of the house & go to dinner! =)
I've wondered the babysitter thing too--and have asked around. We've been paying $10/hr and that was with the babies sleeping THE ENTIRE time. They just have to put M & M to bed about an hour into it, and then they're home free. I've been thinking we're paying too much--but $5/kid--I think THAT's way too much. I know grown women that do childcare for $3/hr. btw--check my blog for those kid quotes you requested =)
I would baby-sit for free.....(for MY grandkids).
$5 per hour per child. Wow, I haven't hired a babysitter in...um...14 years? I can't even believe Ashley pays $6/hr. I'm speechless. It should be $5/hour for all the kids. And I stand firm on if its for church assignments or temple trips - it's free.
